P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-587
Mutants produced lower numbers of oocysts in comparison with wild type parasites (although the differences were not significant). Mutant oocysts were significantly smaller than wild type oocysts and no sporozoites were formed.
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-404
Mutant oocysts numbers in Anopheles stephensi, counted at day 10-12 post infection, were slightly lower than those produced by wild type parasites and the size of mutant oocysts at day 10-12 was significantly smaller compared to the size of wild type oocysts with a maximum size that is comparable to immature 6-8 days wt oocysts. The small oocysts that are present at day 10-12 showed a highly vacuolated cytoplasm and the absence of sporozoite formation. No sporozoites were observed in A. stephensi salivary glands at day 21-22 post infection

P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-403
Mutant oocysts numbers in Anopheles stephensi, counted at day 10-12 post infection, were slightly lower than those produced by wild type parasites and the size of mutant oocysts at day 10-12 was significantly smaller compared to the size of wild type oocysts with a maximum size that is comparable to immature 6-8 days wt oocysts. The small oocysts that are present at day 10-12 showed a highly vacuolated cytoplasm and the absence of sporozoite formation. P. berghei ANKA Sporozoite
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-587
No production of oocyst- or salivary gland sporozoites
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Sporozoite
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-404
The small oocysts that are present at day 10-12 showed a highly vacuolated cytoplasm and the absence of sporozoite formation. No sporozoites were observed in A. stephensi salivary glands at day 21-22 post infection

P. berghei ANKA Sporozoite
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-403
The small oocysts that are present at day 10-12 showed a highly vacuolated cytoplasm and the absence of sporozoite formation. No sporozoites were observed in A. stephensi salivary glands at day 21-22 post infection
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Liver
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-587
No production of oocyst- or salivary gland sporozoites. Infected mosquitoes were unable to infect mice by mosquito bite
