P. berghei ANKA Gametocyte
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1127
Normal numbers of gametocytes. Exflagellation numbers are formed. Activated pbgamer male gametocytes produce morphologically normal and motile microgametes; however, the vast majority of them was unable to detach from the residual body of the gametocytes and remained attached to the exflagellation centers even 30 min post activation.

P. berghei ANKA Ookinete
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1289
The mutants developed into ookinetes with normal conversion rates. However, the morphology of ookinetes appeared somewhat laterally longer than those of the wild-type parasites. Calculation of the heightwidth ratios of these ookinetes confirmed that they had abnormal morphologies.

P. berghei ANKA Ookinete
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1127
(Strongly) reduced ookinete formation (18% compared to 72% in wild type)
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1289
Strongly reduced oocyst production.
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1127
(Strongly) reduced ookinete formation (18% compared to 72% in wild type). (Strongly) reduced oocyst formation.
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Sporozoite
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1289
Strongly reduced sporozoite production.
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Sporozoite
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1127
(Strongly) reduced oocyst formation. (Strongly) reduced sporozoite formation.
Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Liver
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-1127
(Strongly) reduced sporozoite formation. However, sporozoites are infectious to mice (by mosquito-bite infection)
