Immunodetection of the HA-tagged PfGluPho. Immunofluorescence shows a cytoplasmic localisation of the PfGluPho-HA with antiserum against the haemagglutinin (HA) antibody, consistent with bioinformatic analysis of the enzyme and its surrounding pathway. Labelling is excluded from the digestive vacuole, but some overlap is observed with the DAPI-stained nucleus. Representative parasites are shown from ~18 hour old Ring stages (ring), ~30 hour old trophozoite stages (Troph) and ~42 hour old schizont stages (Schiz).Allen SM, Lim EE, Jortzik E, Preuss J, Chua HH, MacRae JI, Rahlfs S, Haeussler K, Downton MT, McConville MJ, Becker K, Ralph SA. Plasmodium falciparum glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase 6-phosphoglucono-lactonase is a potential drug target. FEBS J. 2015 Jul 21. [Epub ahead of print] PMID: .
