Schizont and merozoite culture was incubated overnight with 0.1µM cytochalasin D to inhibit invasion. Thin smeared on a glass slide, fixed in methanol, stained with Rabbit anti-formin1 polyclonal serum 1:300. Formin1 localizes to extreme apex of merozoite and follows tight junction (not shown).Baum J, Tonkin CJ, Paul AS, Rug M, Smith BJ, Gould SB, Richard D, Pollard TD, Cowman AF. A malaria parasite formin regulates actin polymerization and localizes to the parasite-erythrocyte moving junction during invasion. Cell Host Microbe. 2008 3:188-98. Copyright Elsevier 2009.
