Localization of T-proteinby immunofluorescence microscopy. Co-localization of T-protein with mitotracker was studied using 5 mg of anti-PfTIgG. Pf, P. falciparum; Pb, P. berghei; MT, mitotracker; IE,infected erythrocyte; P, parasite; H, hemozoin. Scale bar: 5 mm. using anti-PfTIgG revealed the co-localization of T-protein with mitotracker suggesting that the native T-protein is localized to the mitochondrion and the similar localization pattern was observed in P. berghei as well.Varadarajan NM, Sundaram B, Subramani PA, Kalappa DM, Ghosh SK, Nagaraj VA. Plasmodium berghei glycine cleavage system T-protein is non-essential for parasite survival in vertebrate and invertebrate hosts. Mol Biochem Parasitol. 2014 197(1-2):50-5.
