Species Disruptability Reference Submitter
P. berghei ANKA
Possible
PlasmoGEM (Barseq) PlasmoGEM
P. falciparum 3D7
Possible
29354648
The Glo1 activity of clonal 3D7Δglo1 parasites dropped by approximately 90% resulting in an increased susceptibility towards external glyoxal. None of the clonal knockout strains had a suspicious morphology during asexual blood-stage development when compared to the wild-type 3D7 strain. Even though blood-stage growth rates appeared to be slightly reduced for single knockout clones, differences to the wild-type strain were not significant according to statistical analyses.
,
P. falciparum 3D7
Possible
29354648
Compared to its parental line, 3D7Δglo1 parasites formed reduced numbers of gametocytes in more than three independent experiments, when these were quantified 14 days after setting up the gametocyte cultures.
