Imaging data (from Malaria Metabolic Pathways)

Immunofluorescence assay of PfeIF4E (B) and PfeIF4A (C) respectively in fixed parasite cultures showing co-localization (D). The fluorescence staining indicates that endogenous PfeIF4E and PfeIF4A (PfH45) co-localize and are distributed mainly in the cytoplasm in the parasite.Tuteja R, Pradhan A. PfeIF4E and PfeIF4A colocalize and their double-stranded RNA inhibits Plasmodium falciparum proliferation. Commun Integr Biol. 2010 3:611-3.

Localization of PfH45 by immunofluorescence staining. The cells were fixed and immunostained with purified primary antibodies against PfH45 followed by FITC-labeled secondary antibody (green) and then counterstained with DAPI (blue). Stage: (a) ring; (b) trophozoite and (c) schizont. PfH45 is localized throughout the parasite, suggesting mainly cytoplasmic localization.Pradhan A, Tuteja R. Bipolar, Dual Plasmodium falciparum helicase 45 expressed in the intraerythrocytic developmental cycle is required for parasite growth. J Mol Biol. 2007 373:268-81. Copyright Elsevier 2010.
