Imaging data (from Malaria Metabolic Pathways)

An asynchronous malarial parasite culture was immunostained with anti-PfPK6 antibody and observed under a Zeiss Fuorescence microscope with the FITC channel (top panels) to detect PfPK6 or with the Hoechst channel (middle panels) to reveal the DNA. A superimposition of FITC and Hoechst channels is also shown (bottom panels). (B) Preimmune sera ; (C) late ring stage ; (D) trophozoite (small nucleus) and schizont (larger multinucleated) ; (E) segmenter. PfPK6 seems to exhibit localization in both the cytoplasm and the nucleus.Reproduced with permission, from Bracchi-Ricard V, Barik S, Delvecchio C, Doerig C, Chakrabarti R, Chakrabarti D.
