Imaging data (from Malaria Metabolic Pathways)

Detection of endogenous PfG in the erythrocytic stages. Indirect immunofluorescence using anti-PfG antisera: 1) Differential Interference Contrast Microscopy 2) Anti PfG Staining (PfG) 3) Staining with DAPI(40,6-Diamidin-2-phenylindol) 4) Merge of the two different stainings AK and DAPI 4) Overlay of both stainings. The cytosolic localization to the parasite is consistent with the lack of any known protein targeting motifs within the primary protein sequence, and the lack of any hydrophobic domains which may act as membrane anchors.Kaiser A, Langer B, Przyborski J, Kersting D, Krüger M.
