Characterization of the lysylation system in P. falciparum. Immunofluorescence assays of infected red blood cells (iRBCs) containing PfKRS-2leader-GFP-transfected P. falciparum parasites. The GFP-tagged sequence colocalizes with ACP and not with Mitotracker, indicating that it is being specifically targeted to the apicoplast, consistently with the bioinformatic predictions.
