P. berghei ANKA Oocyst
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-4059
Slightly higher oocyst production compared to wild type. Sporozoites are formed inside oocysts. Oocysts do not rupture and oocysts do not release sporozoites.
Imported from RMgmDB

Imported from RMgmDB
P. berghei ANKA Liver
Difference from wild-type
RMgm-4059
No infection of mice after mosquito bite. No infection of mice after infection with sporozoites that are artificially released from oocysts (motility of these sporozoites was not tested/reported)

Imaging data (from Malaria Metabolic Pathways)

The cellular localization of PfNF-YB was examined in ring, trophozoite and schizont stages of intra-erythrocytic cycle. PfNF-YB was localized at both cytoplasm and nucleus. Immunofluorescence was carried out with the anti-PfNF-YB antibody (green), and nuclear DNA was stained with TOPRO-3 (blue) and the RBC membrane bordering with WGA (red). The confocal images exhibited a specific staining to parasites and displayed localization in both cytoplasm and nucleus in all stages. Scale bar = 5 mm.Lima WR, Moraes M, Alves E, Azevedo MF, Passos DO, Garcia CR. The PfNF-YB transcription factor is a downstream target of melatonin and cAMP signalling in the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. J Pineal Res. 2012 54(2):145-53
